Thunder snorted. "I asked her to make peace with Yanfield, he is away at the moment, she is his mate," he reared up with the last of his strength and snorted. His eyes were still golden, but faded.

Thunder snorted. "Farewell, Rayne," he said and closed his eyes. He shook his head as the darkness closed in. He whinnied out and then reared, failing, he fell on his side. His sides were going up and down in quick, short breaths and he snorted. "I love you Rayne," he whispered, knowing, hoping it would catch her. He took one last breath and then opened his eyes. They were bright gold. He snorted and then let his final breath leave his body.

Forever reared and took off, her wild hooves still elegantly carrying her, thundering down the hill, her eyes filled with hot tears of anger, she bucked in her frustration, and whinnied loudly. Her hoofs thudded into the earth, making sharp indents and sending dirt flying everywhere...

Rayne rolled her eyes at the mare and lay down next to Thunder. Oh how I love you she murmured, and a curtain of darkness shrouded her rheumy cataract infested eyes for the final time
