Crash trotted forwards and dropped his head. He wanted the herd he knew and loved to return to normal. No wars, no deaths. He trotted toward the small running river and looked down at the water. He needed to think and if he didn't connect his thoughts, he would kill himself. What good was he to the herd if he couldn't think?
Crash shook his head and snorted. He looked to the sky and half reared. "I need answers," he whinnied softly. The clouds didn't move from their usual shape. Crash flicked his tail with discomfort. This place gave him the creeps. Many things had happened here. Was he going to make one more thing happen?

A flicker inn the trees broke Crash's thoughts. After waiting so long to actually think them, he was disappointed at how easy they could be broke. Crash turned his head and searched the trees. He couldn't help wishing it was a wolf or cougar to end his misery. He shook his head. He didn't want to die. Whatever was in the bushes, he would fight and kill. He flattened his ears at the snap of a branch and backed up. Then after realising this might be a trap, he jumped forwards, sending dust into the air. Crash cursed under his breath and began to walk back to the Forest. The trees blew wildly and Crash felt more discomfort. He looked in the trees again and searched the bushes. He could see glinting eyes staring at him. Crash's blood ran cold, he didn't know what to do, should he run or stay and fight. His feet wouldn't move, Staying to fight, he thought. He turned his whole body back around, not taking his own eyes off of the ones staring back.

Chance followed Crash's scent to the Ridge. She looked around and whinnied to him.

Crash snorted quietly. The eyes blinked and backed aay as Crash got closer. He reared up, making the wolf dash off into the trees. Crash sighed as he realised he'd been lucky. He shook his head and raced back to the forest, not wanting to feel any more discomfort. He stopped as he saw Chance. He whinnied to her, warning her to go back. He didn't want her to get hurt.

Chance saw him and trotted up to him. She nuzzled his shoulder and smiled. "What are you doing here?" she asked him, looking around and feeling a chill go through her.

"Just needed to think," he said truthfully and nuzzled her. He sighed as he felt electricity go through him. He couldn't leave Chance and he never would.

Chance nodded. "I know what you mean. This is all too much," she whispered, thinking of how her own family was turned on each other.
