<A new one. The other was TOO big...>
Bell nudged Splashi gently, her movements lazy as she squinted against the glare of the sun on the water. She watched Lilly who was looking for the colts who had gone missing three days ago. Bell and Splashi were close to giving up, but Lilly had more fight left in her.

Crash snorted, his eyes were searching for anyone he knew. The herd hadn't been the same for a long time. He lifted his head, looking to the sky. He snorted and walked to the water. He saw Bell and trotted over. "Everythink okay Bell?" he asked gently.

Bell pulled a face. "I want Panic. Or Thunder." She complained, looking at Lilly again, her heart sinking. "Baba and Magnus have been missing for three days." She said, shaking her head suddenly when a fly tried investigating her ear.

Crash snorted softly. Bell obviously didn't know. Thunder died a few weeks ago, Bell he sighed and closed his eyes, turning his head. Three days? he snorted and shook his mane. I'll help look he promised.

Bell blinked sadly. "I know. Everyone goes and dies." She said angrily, trotting off towards the river, where she broke into a canter and followed it upstream. Splashi looked queringly at Crash. "Way to go." She muttered, walking over to him.

Crash snorted and then looked at Splashi. Go help Lilly look he told her and rolled his eyes. He raced after Bell, his legs pushing him faster than hers.

Splashi rolled her eyes and trotted towards Lilly, sharp eyes looking for signs of the colts. Bell suddenly halted and span round on her haunches. "Go. Away." She said, trying hard to control her voice. Her eyes scanned the rocks on the other side of the river quickly, before she span around again and shot off up the river, tears making their pattern on her soft, white cheek.

Crash stopped and sighed. He snorted. Fine by me he rolled his eyes. What did his father ever see in this mare? He trotted back to the river, climbing into the shimmering water. He snorted and put his head down.

Bell slammed on the brake looking at the drenched coats of two colts caught in the rocks on the other side of the river. She let out an ear piercing scream before leaping into the river and struggling towards her son and grandson. The river was deeper, faster, with stronger undercurrents. Bell kept disappearing under the surface, still struggling towards the colts.

Crash lifted his head suddenly. He snorted and raced down the river. He snorted, moving faster when he saw the colts. He jumped into the water, swimming frantically to get to Bell. He finally got to her. He swam under her so she was on his back. He kicked out his legs, trying to get to shore. He let out a low whinny so Lilly could hear.

Lilly lifted her head suddenly, snorting to Splashi before picking up a fast canter towards Crash. Splashi followed, slowing her canter to keep pace with Lilly. Bell squealed with indignation and kicked out at Crash. "Go away!" She yelled, tears blurring her voice as she tried to get to her colt. She snaked her neck and bit Crash, trying ever harder to get to the other side of the river. But near the estuary and the river was wide. Bell was barely halfway across.

Crash snorted, ignoring the pain that was now stinging where she'd bit him. He kicked ut his legs, finally reaching the shore where he pushed Bell off. He snorted at her and kicked his legs out to get to the colts. He stopped at the stone and pushed himself out of the water the narrow part of shore. He pulled the colts up and shook his pelt, his eyes on the three mares. He nudged the colts gently.

Bell snaked her neck and bit him again, throwing herself at him with teeth and feet. "Get. Off. Them!" She yelled, eyes narrowed, blinded by pain as she went and lay beside the two, stiff, cold bodies.

Crash snorted and stepped back. He dropped his head and closed his eyes. If his dad was still here. He lifted his head, expecting to see his father run down now and help Bell. She needed him. Crash reared up, stretching his legs out to the sky. Nothing happened. Crash dropped down and shook his body.

Bell glared at him as she rocked softly, nuzzling her cold colt. "Now you will be with your father. And Magnus will be with his. Cause he's up there. Cause he left and now you've left. And everyone is fricken leaving!" Bell broke down then, arching her neck as she cried, though there was no presence to her. There was nothing that made you notice her. She was just a gray arabian mare crying over her loved ones...
